re-install

i have just rebooted my pc i backed up my et files done the reinstall...but cant get my backed up files to work i have read the posts on here done all what was siad but no joy so just going to start again you now new profile and all that but will this affect my admin lvl as in when some one comes on game will thay be able to reset admin thanks

did you replace the et key?

proberly not nowing me but where can i find it as i have all my old files

your "etkey.cfg" is located in etmain folder make sure to replace the old one with the new one in the etmain, remember if you reinstall dont put old maps on as some could be infected etc., if that was your reason to reinstall

You see etkey are the details about you like guid and thats how server recognises u, lvl name etc etc. ill b offline for some time but tell me if that helped u.

There are plenty of admins who can give you back your level.

If they are not on, give me a shout letting me know when you are going to be on and I'll sort it for you.

Might even stay on and kill you for a bit.

cheers gran i will do that i don't mind starting with new xp will give me an incentive to play and get up the ranks again....i would just like to add when playing on here with reaper...zylet....mid January and a few others , i remember correctly there was 8 of us was good nite had fun .....and the above two gave me lvl9 and looking in post,s none of us have said any thing but im sure when thay see this post thay will confirm this.and going by your suggestion to hang around and "kill" me for a bit i take it you well on the mend gran....lol...im off work the next 4 days cant give direct time but defo will be on some time in afternoon 1-oclock and after and evenings after six all four days dude!

now downloading game doing total re-install

sorry to be a pain guys but i re-install et but now wont let me on when i connect i get to where the maps load then i get message.....game code (ui_mp_x86 .dll) fail pure server check
any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

just google the file, download it.
Also while you google it somewhere the right place to put it should pop up, but im gussing u just need to put it into your etmain folder.

happy days back on now...from what i can tell it was to do with pb not downloading correctly and not giving me a quid number...... but thanks every one...urms done my lvl...yehhhh

Yes mate, much better, been back to work for a long time now. Just get dull pain when sat at pc for long.

SO guys if i re-install ET, what are the essential files that i must save? the etkey (which contains XP, right?) and what else?

And that's about it.
Unless you can remember all the maps that you've downloaded.

All of the above is in the etmain folder.
