punkbuster

punk buster kicks me all the time for no reason every time with different error

i tried updating it many times but nothing changed

also when launched pbweb it attempted to download some files but i got error 302 everytime

any ideas?

Sorry but i never got a 302 error before. By any chance were any of the problems related to PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB? I had probs about this before, solved them.

also tried to reinstall it several times and still nmothing also i found that message:
Punkbuster Client:O/S Exception Notice is spamming the log but only i can see it

Dont think i ever got that before. Though i got some O/S problem when i used to play on a non-administrator account.

doesnt matter anymore as i made a backup of all et files just incase some time ago and i replaced them with new files and it worked. it was something with docs or different folder but not pb...weird, but oh well

it works fine now just need to update my binds D:

Help guys now i have a problem. Im being kicked for punkbuster INIT failure or something. Any solutions?

Ok to try solve the problem I updated punkbuster. But now another problem :S Now it kicked for "No Packet Flow". Any solutions? And yes, i do have the 2.60b patch.

Another problem, General PB Client Authentication Failure.

Re-installed PB, still have problem Please help me!!

it could be what i had i was kicked by lots of excuses until i restored the folders i made a back up of some time ago which for some strange reason whasnt pb's fault

or

u might have to reinstall your whole et but remember to keep your et key somewhere in docs(think)

Ok but why is it important to save my etkey? Every time i re-install my ET my etkey gets deleted. I just save my stats by saving my profile from both nq an d etmain folders.

Your etkey is located in /etmain
it is the file that generates your Punkbusterguid, which is a unique guid for you.
When someone on your server do a !setlevel on you, Noquarter uses your PBGuid to keep track on you and make sure you have your levels when returning. and the same with your XP.

All is relying on your ETKey

You maybe have it with you when you backup your etmain?, so it dosent seem so important to you

Btw if someone have Punkbuster problems and wants help, it would help to know what Operating system and antiviruses they are using, as those are causing most of the problems

and u should always keep a copy of your et key somewhere safe

btw. i got win 7 ultimate x86(32bit) and i dont have to worry about anti virus cause i dont have one

My O/S is Windows Vista SP 2 (dont know if 16-bit or 32-bit, and i dont know how to find out). My antivirus software is Norton Internet Security, but i allow ET, PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB to access the internet.

Buy guys, any solutions to my above problems or no?

First your Vista is either 32 or 64-bit 16 belongs in the historybooks

Second when you run ET under Vista you have to make sure you run your ET is an administrator

Goto the directory where you have ET. most likely its somthing like --> C:/Program Files/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory

Now click at your ET.exe icon with your right mouse button and select properties or something like that. ( I have danish windows so ;p).

If you have the window with the configurations for et.exe you have to go to the Compatibilities tab.

Now you have to select ¬ Start as administrator and you have to select Starting the program using Windows server 2003 (Service pack 1).

When thats done your ET should work, if it dosent you might have to set the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB to run as administrators to.

and ofc remember to update PB

Well this is the first time I've ver got all these problems and until now I've been running ET on a Standard (Limited) Account. This shouldnt be the main factor as when I installed ET on an Administrator Account i gave Full Control for other account users from the Secuity Tab upon going onto the Properties folder of ET.

Now since I complained of these problems I havent gone on ET since. So when I can I will play, and if I have no problems, I wont change anything. Otherwise I'll change the settings and hope for the best.

As such i dont update PB, only when i get such problems, but I still got these even after i updated it on the day this happened.

Vista and ET has been a problem for lots of et players and running ET as administrator is the best way of fixing them as it seems
